MINI-ROOK / BUILD LOG 009

The raven invented a desktop cleaner.

A working edit flow exposes a content-integrity failure

PRODUCT-IDENTITY RETEST · LIMITED HUMAN RESULT. Adapted from the project development record BUILD_LOG_009.md. Results describe the recorded checkpoint; publishing this article adds no new runtime test.

TECHNICAL CHECKPOINT

What this build actually records.

Stack and method
Product context from draft content · conservative drift checks
Recorded progress
Workflow mechanics worked; first copy failed integrity. Log 010 records improved product identity.
Still open at this checkpoint
Unverified availability claims and analysis leakage; newest safeguards need retesting.

Software development on an existing workstation. This entry does not establish a new robot, custom hardware build or autonomous publishing capability.

TEST STATUS / SEPARATE FROM THE ORIGINAL RECORD

What later checks established.

A subsequent human rewrite retained CharacterForge's character-and-quest purpose instead of the invented desktop-cleaner identity. The synthetic product-drift scenario had also been flagged. This limited retest does not erase the recorded content-integrity failure.

Still open: The new output still contained an availability claim and an internal verification note. Stronger claim/analysis checks were added later; their end-to-end UI/model retest remains open.

01 / BUILD LOG 009

The original development record

The first end-to-end Rewrite with Rook test worked mechanically: a saved Growth draft was rewritten, approval reset to Draft, and the previous version appeared in Version History. But the rewritten CharacterForge pitch hallucinated an entirely different product: cleaning Windows desktop clutter, plus unsupported availability claims. This is a content-integrity failure, even though the editing workflow succeeded.

We traced one weakness: rewrite context was selected from the generic draft title rather than the product mentioned in the actual content. We corrected that and implemented an initial conservative safeguard that rejects certain known product-drift patterns before overwriting the original. A synthetic reproduction of the desktop-cleaner scenario was flagged successfully; Python compilation passed. The safeguard is heuristic, not a proof of factual correctness, and a fresh browser/model test remains necessary.

Until stronger verification exists, all generated marketing content must be reviewed by a human. Mini-Rook does not publish automatically.

Status: internal build log / await browser retest.
