MINI-ROOK / BUILD LOG 017

Seeing What Changed

Bounded document snapshots and diffs for a human-reviewed workflow

SCAN-TO-BRIEF · LIMITED HUMAN UI PASS. Adapted from the project development record BUILD_LOG_017.md. Results describe the recorded checkpoint; publishing this article adds no new runtime test.

TECHNICAL CHECKPOINT

What this build actually records.

Stack and method
Bounded text snapshots · unified diff · hash deduplication · manual scan
Recorded progress
Syntax and isolated checks pass; creator observes new allowed documents reaching saved editorial drafts.
Still open at this checkpoint
Exact diff lines not separately verified; no continuous watcher, unrestricted filesystem scan or automated publication.

Software development on an existing workstation. This entry does not establish a new robot, custom hardware build or autonomous publishing capability.

TEST STATUS / SEPARATE FROM THE ORIGINAL RECORD

What later checks established.

Python/JavaScript syntax and isolated detection/briefing checks passed. A dedicated allowed test file and Build Log 016 were discovered in the real UI; the creator observed scan → suggestion → editorial brief → saved draft. Bounded snapshots and a short unified diff were implemented.

Still open: The precise diff lines were not separately verified. Continuous watching and wider project coverage remain outside scope. Scans require a button press; no scheduler or automatic publication is enabled. Product code and release artifacts were not changed for the demonstration.

01 / BUILD LOG 017

The original development record

Opportunity Radar now records bounded text snapshots for allowlisted project documentation and displays a short unified diff when a document changes. Its hash-based deduplication remains in place. This is documentation monitoring, not unrestricted source-code or filesystem monitoring. Scans still require a human to press the button. No background scheduler or automatic publication has been enabled.

A harmless dedicated test file, RADAR_TEST.md, was added to Mini-Rook's allowed documentation list, alongside the recent Build Log 016. Since these are newly allowed paths relative to the user's earlier baseline, the next manual scan should create a test opportunity. The suggestion can be selected with Create editorial brief to populate Draft Queue. No product code or release artifacts were modified for the demonstration.

Checks: Python compilation PASS; JavaScript syntax PASS; isolated changed-text detection and briefing creation previously PASS. The creator subsequently confirmed in the real browser UI that scanning discovered the new allowed documents, Create editorial brief succeeded, and the resulting briefing appeared under saved drafts. This is a human-observed end-to-end PASS for the scan-to-draft pathway; continuous watching and wider project coverage remain outside scope. The precise diff lines were not separately verified in this report.

Status: READY TO PUBLISH — human acceptance PASS for scan → suggestion → editorial brief → saved draft. Chapter VI — The Watchtower.
