ROOKWELD / ORIGINAL IP / BOOK I

Aetherion

City of Cogs
and Crystals.

An original fantasy saga built as both story and system — where geography, infrastructure, magic, culture and character all leave scars on the same world.

01 / THE ARTIFACT

A world that made it
all the way to page 196.

Book I is not a moodboard or a future promise. It is a completed manuscript: a full-length journey through Sunreach, written in the voice of a world already carrying more history than it can comfortably hold.

“On the night the world cracked, the sea forgot how to be water and tried to be a road.”

02 / WORLD SYSTEMS

The world refused
perfection.

The Shattering is more than backstory. It is the pressure beneath politics, technology, faith and everyday survival. Beautiful control and ugly honesty collide in every district.

01

Geography

A continent shaped by the Heartlands, Ironfang mountains, Elven Realms, Thal’Kar, Bloodplains, Scorchlands and Ashenmoor.

02

Cities & infrastructure

Sunreach, the Heartspire Crystal, Silvermere River, Aegis Bastion, Forgequarter, Ironveil Docks and the Undermarket.

03

Magic & the Veil

The Flame, fractured reality and Veil-sight are treated as systems with limits, costs, anchors and consequences.

04

Factions & pressure

Cults, cartels, couriers, clans and civic powers pull on the same city from different moral directions.

05

Technology & movement

Cogs, crystals, skyships, docks and engineered districts make infrastructure part of the storytelling.

06

Culture & memory

Rituals, refrains, symbols and local histories determine how people understand the world after the Shattering.

03 / NARRATIVE ARCHITECTURE

One completed book.
A longer road mapped.

The protagonist’s journey is planned across eight books and roughly twenty-four years of life. Kaelen’s Veil-sight is not a convenient superpower: it has costs, failure modes and human anchors — from breathing rituals to alchemic ink-rings and Elyndra’s chants.

04 / CHARACTER CONSTELLATION

People, not
pieces.

The cast is designed as a living constellation. Each character carries a different relationship to power, memory, loyalty and the city itself.

01 / THE VEILWALKER

Kaelen

A quiet observer who sees echoes of the past, possible futures and the weak seams between them.

02 / THE SHADOWSTEP

Silja

A sharp-edged survivor whose instincts expose what polite systems try to conceal.

03 / THE DEFENDER

Edrik

A grounded force at the centre of Sunreach when politics, violence and myth converge.

04 / THE HAVENSHIELD

Kara

Resolve given human form — one of the city’s defenders when the cost becomes personal.

05 / THE RUNEVEIL

Ylva

Mentor, ritual keeper and one of Kaelen’s anchors when the Veil threatens his sense of self.

06 / THE BLOOMSCAR

Elyndra

Kaelen’s partner and emotional counterweight across a life-spanning, eight-book arc.

05 / CANON ENGINEERING

The Bible
of Bibles.

A master framework keeps facts, character logic and future expansion from drifting apart. It is deliberately structured, transparently incomplete and built to grow without flattening the mystery.

STORIES FROM THE SHADOWS OF AETHERION

Chains bind the world.
Legends break free.

Aetherion is the literary side of Rookweld: the same systems instinct used for software and infrastructure, turned toward myth, memory and human consequence.
